Maybe you have heard the saying “Persistence beats resistance.” I first heard it from my husband & after becoming a parent I understood it completely and fell for it often. Children are natural born “Guru’s” at this skill!
I learned early on in life to persist through the ups and downs and NEVER GIVE UP. The oldest of 5 children, 3 of us raised by my single Mother, taught me great independence, responsibility and persistence at a young age. I was 21 when my husband and I started our first business and by 34 I was running 3 businesses, need I say…running! Like chickens with our heads cut off we found that self employment only gave us a longer leash.
Sure we had a little more flexibility with our schedule but instead of 1 boss we had 100’s of them. Every new client was our boss for a day or a week, workers comp, taxes, insurance, equipment, tools, supplies, food, leases, time, etc. etc.; slowly sucked every ounce of energy & money we had. We were at a crossroad; go get a job or…?

There is a general rule that 7 no’s will lead to a yes.
In May of 2009 my husband’s persistence for me to join him on a “due diligence” road trip paid off! I finally agreed (just to get him to leave me alone about it) that I would drive 10 hours to meet Tom Mower Sr. of SISEL International to see if SISEL could be the vehicle that would provide us the freedom we desired.
SISEL International has been our home ever since that 3 hour meeting with Tom. We all have stories of how out persistence has paid off.
